MY WORK

My work is usually a response to something visual or tactile that catches my eye. It is about close up investigation, abstraction, colour and textural qualities.
My interpretation is created by fragmenting, assembling and collaging. I like to be experimental and inventive in the mixing and use of a wide range of media.
I hope to communicate to the viewer something of what inspired me through the image I produce.

DELIGHT IN DISORDER

This work was produced for a National Needlework Archive competition inspired by the poem Delight in Disorder by Robert Herrick. It is an assemblage of lace, fabrics and haberdashery, some of which are from my Grandma's family collections and quite old. Some have been dyed to fit with the emotive colour scheme. The colours on the photo of the whole work are rather distorted by the light conditions.
